Georgetown Municipal Airport offers private aircraft and corporate jet access providing a 5,000’ length runway, a wide variety of aircraft services, hospitality services, a newly remodeled and expanded terminal building, and is open 365 days a year. Airport staff monitors UNICOM radio and provides up to the minute weather conditions to pilots from the Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) installed on the airport grounds.
In front of the main terminal are the 2 newly installed self-service 100 low lead avgas pumps, and the fueling station bulk-loading fuel dispensers for avgas and commercial jet fuel. The Georgetown Municipal Airport provides pilots 10 spaces for overnight aircraft tie-down, and provides a courtesy car to visitors to use to visit Georgetown TX properties (available at no charge.) 2008 Red Poppy Festival
The Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown Texas is the popular spring arrival festival of Georgetown's favorite flower - the Red Poppy flower. Walking, Hiking & Bike Trails in Georgetown Texas
The city of Georgetown’s Parks & Recreation Dept has constructed nearly 9 miles of popular hiking & bike trails in and along the North and South San Gabriel Rivers. Additionally there’s a nice 1.7 mile granite hiking/biking trail that loops you around the San Gabriel Park. You’ll enjoy the 1 mile long “lighted” paved concrete trail on the North San Gabriel River which goes from one side of the San Gabriel Park to the Rivery Park. Along the South San Gabriel River, you’ll enjoy a 1 mile long “lighted” smooth concrete trail that begins at Walden and College streets, and takes you to the nice Blue Hole Park – a nice walk. The San Gabriel River Trail was constructed by the City of Georgetown's and was given the designation of a National Recreation Trail (by the U.S. Dept of the Interior) back in 2006. San Gabriel Park
What a beautiful place to have a park – is what so many people say when they first visit San Gabriel Park in Georgetown Texas. The park is situated along the San Gabriel River just a few minutes away from historic Downtown Georgetown. The San Gabriel Park has limestone rock walls formed by thousands of years of water erosion of the San Gabriel River meandering through the park, and has old growth 200 year-old oak trees that began growing only a few years after the United States was formed in 1776. Enjoy shady family picnics here, get the guys together for a touch football game, break out the Frisbee, see one of the many summer music concerts or fun festivals, go canoeing, kayaking, tubing, swimming or enjoy a few hours fishing for bass, crappie or catfish. Georgetown has some great fishing holes! Need to get some exercise – how about a walk or jog on the new 1-mile hiking/bike trail built along the North Fork of the San Gabriel River. The ever popular 3-mile hiking/bike trail follows along the San Gabriel South Fork, to the San Gabriel Park over to the Blue Hole area.

The dam on the San Gabriel River creates the beautiful Lake Georgetown, nestled in the limestone rocks and cliffs of the Texas Hill Country here in Central Texas. Directions: At Interstate 35 you’ll travel westward on Williams Drive. Go approximately 3.5 miles to D.B. Wood, and then turn left to go to Cedar Breaks Park. Or, go another 1.5 miles further on Williams Drive and turn left on Jim Hogg Road to go to the Jim Hogg Park at Georgetown Lake. The lake is located about 4 miles west of Georgetown and offers good fishing for bass, bluegills, crappie and catfish year round, picnicing and recreation for the kids.
